The Catholic Committee on Scouting, Diocese of Portland, Maine has developed a new website to better serve the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Maine with the latest information and processes towards building their faith and earning their Scouting Religious Emblems. The site is still emerging with new information and updates as they come from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting, Boy Scouts of America and the National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts USA and Camp Fire USA. New Members for the CCS Needed!
As with any dynamic organization in the Church, the Catholic Committee on Scouting is always in need of new members in order to meet the mission of the Church. Registered Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders who have completed Protecting God's Children training and the Diocesan Background Check are encouraged to apply. Click on the About CCS tab at the top of the page to learn where you can offer your talents. In addition to adult leaders, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in high school and college (under 21) are welcome to apply as Youth Representatives to the CCS in order to direct the actions of the CCS towards youth needs. Information is also available in the About CCS area of the website.

Are you starting work on your religious emblem? Let us know by telling BEN, the Bulletin of Emblem Notification (BEN) on this website. In this way, we can keep track of your progress, prepare the necessary awards and documents for your religious emblem and keep on encouraging you to make your way to the finish line.
